突然の成層圏温暖化
非常に珍しい「突然の成層圏温暖化」イベントが
ニュージーランドに氷のような寒さをもたらす可能性があるそう。
（25℃以上上昇）
成層圏温暖化が発生すると、
成層圏の極渦を弱めたり移動させたりして、
気象パターンに影響を与えると。
弱まった渦から寒気団が離れるからなんですね。
このイベントは南半球ではまれで、
ニュージーランドで過去に記録されたのは2つで
1つは2002年9月、もう1つは2010年9月。

「NIWA meteorologists are keeping an eye on an unusual atmospheric phenomenon that is amassing in the polar stratosphere.Called a Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW), it occurs when the temperature of the stratosphere (30-50km above ground) over the South Pole rises by more than 25ᵒC. NIWA’s Ben Noll says this looks likely to occur next week.“These events are rare in the Southern Hemisphere. There have only been two in New Zealand in recorded times: one in September 2002 and the other in September 2010.・・・」
南半球の極渦は2019年の冬は非常に小さく過去10年間でほぼ最小の大きさ。
また2010年は異常に小さく最後に突然成層圏の温暖化が発生。

The Southern Hemisphere polar vortex has been quite small during winter 2019 -- nearly the smallest size in the last 10 years.
It was also unusually small in 2010, the last time a sudden stratospheric warming event occurred.
そうそう昨日の朝、アメリカコロラド州で雪が降ったそうですよ。
